Book Reviews

As I said in my previous post, in this new phase of my work life I might want people who aren’t familiar with me to know that I’ve written lots of “content” that doesn’t end up on television.

For instance, for years I wrote book reviews for my hometown newspaper. I was usually assigned books with women as the assumed target audience, so you’ll sense a theme. I loved this gig, and did it right up until they stopped hiring freelancers.

Let’s pause a moment and mourn the decline of arts coverage in local newspapers, and the death of print journalism in general. It really does suck.

Links would be easier, but the Buffalo News is a fickle beast these days so I grabbed some pdfs. They are clunky, but serviceable. Most importantly, they won’t disappear.

This is hopefully a representative sampling, and the first one is the oldest, but possibly my favorite. RIP Judith Krantz.
